It’s Midnight Wednesday everywhere:

Singer-songwriter Lee Nestor’s fourth album is released

(Los Angeles, CA): Gifted with a sunny disposition, even in the face of pain and adversity, singer-songwriter Lee Nestor released her fourth album today (October 5), Midnight Wednesday, a collection of songs about love and relationships, on the Moonwatcher Music record label.  She wrote or co-wrote thirteen adult rock songs for the acoustic guitar-driven set and produced most of the disc in her hometown of Manhattan with Keith Lentin and Mark Newman; a few tracks were produced by Joseph L. Briggs and Prasanna Bishop.  Grammy winner Steve Churchyard (Maroon 5, The Pretenders, Sheryl Crow) remixed a trio of tunes.

On October 16th, Nestor will enter Hollywood’s famed East West Studios with guitarist-producer and Moonwatcher Music label head Joe Taylor and Churchyard to record a bonus track for Midnight Wednesday.  “Crumbs” is an assertion of strength and a proclamation of post-relationship independence that has become popular with fans of her alluring live performances.  The track will be available for free for a limited time through Nestor’s website (www.leenestor.com), future CD pressings, and for purchase at iTunes, Amazon and other digital retail outlets.

To support the album release, Nestor will perform in New York City at The Living Room on October 28th.  A Los Angeles gig and dates throughout the Southeast are in the works.

After losing everything when flames consumed Nestor’s Los Angeles home and possessions aside from the clothes on her back and her three dogs that she valiantly rescued, she reemerged with a renewed purpose and focus.  She views the loss of her home and possessions as a cleansing and purifying process.  The power and passion in her voice infuse her songs with rays of light - harbingers of hope and comfort even at times when chronicling heartache and failed relationships.  Despite sometimes difficult subject matters, Nestor has a knack for writing buoyant, inviting melodies that uplift or gently embrace.

Anger and bitterness permeate the edgy, aggressive album opener, “Rose Garden.”  The title cut is far gentler although it’s about broken promises and the make-it or break-it point of a relationship.  Nestor struggles to forget an affair with a married man twice her age despite the passing of many years on “Birthday Bash.”  “Roller Coaster,” about the unpredictable twists and turns, and exhilarating highs and bottomless lows of a romance, is the first radio single.  “Sometimes” recalls being haunted by the lingering thoughts of a lost love.  “Change” and “If I Care” take on rockier demeanors with the former being a defiant declaration and the latter capturing a candid moment of introspection during the imminent dissolution of a relationship.  “Better Left Said” is a request for unspoken words from the heart to emerge in the quest for honesty in place of deception through lingering silence.  Closing the collection, “The Flame” reignites a relationship that is admittedly reduced to ashes.  As a thematic contrast, “Lemonade,” “Where I Want You,” “You Are My It” and “Do You Get The Feeling” are sweet songs celebrating love – the openness, beauty and special feelings of allure, connectedness and commitment.

Nestor is also involved with an array of television and award-winning film projects along with her husband, Emmy Award winner Del Bigtree, and is a long-time image model for the iconic Oleg Cassini fashion label.

A night ablaze inspires Lee Nestor’s Midnight Wednesday

Singer-songwriter’s fourth album arrives October 5th prefaced by “Roller Coaster”

Los Angeles, CA: Having lost everything except the T-shirt on her back, a pair of faded jeans, the bunny slippers on her feet and her three dogs that she bravely rescued after a spontaneous fire burned her house to the ground, singer-songwriter Lee Nestor turned to what she had left: her music.  While one might expect that she would pen songs of loss, anger, and bitterness, Nestor emerged from the midst of the burning embers clarified and inspired to write a thirteen-song collection about love and relationships that uplift, offer hope and are just plain fun.  Her fourth album and debut for the Moonwatcher Music label, Midnight Wednesday, will be released October 5th.  Previewing the release, “Roller Coaster,” a thrill ride about the exhilarating highs, bottomless lows, and unpredictable twists and turns of romance, will be serviced to radio in September.

Although based in Los Angeles, Nestor recorded the initial tracks for Midnight Wednesday in New York where she felt creative comfortably ensconced in her co-producer Keith Lentin’s Manhattan studio.  The pair shared production duties with Mark Newman in addition to a few songs that were produced by Joseph L. Briggs and Prasanna Bishop.  Grammy winner Steve Churchyard (The Pretenders, INXS) remixed three songs: “Midnight Wednesday,” “Sometimes” and “The Flame.”  Working with only twenty-four tracks promulgated simplicity and put the emphasis on writing well-crafted songs.  On edgier rock tracks like “Rose Garden,” “Change” and “If I Care,” Nestor’s voice takes on a sense of urgency laced with passion and desire while fiery electric guitar riffs add grit and intensity.  The majority of the disc is filled with acoustic adult rock songs boasting sticky pop melodies and graceful vocals brimful of heart, emotion and vulnerability.  The title track, first single, “Sometimes,” “Lemonade,” “Where I Want You” and “You Are My It” are amongst the numerous infectious standouts that bode to firmly establish Nestor as one of the preeminent female singer-songwriters on today’s adult rock-pop beat.

Midnight Wednesday was conceived from a songwriting perspective.  This album is about discovering what really matters, that love is always with us…the simplicity of it all and timelessness.  Writing and playing music is just that: simple, timeless and lasting.  I strive to be completely in the moment when writing and playing.  Through my songs, I hope to contribute love, joy, positive energy and harmony to the world,” said Nestor.

Nestor, who has gigged extensively throughout the U.S. and internationally as a headliner and an opener for the Goo Goo Dolls, Darden Smith, Tommy James and Big & Rich amongst others, plans to support Midnight Wednesday with club dates in New York City and Los Angeles scheduled around the album release date.  The photogenic beauty was captured wearing an array of fashion icon Oleg Cassini’s designs in the July issue of Long Island’s The Boulevard Magazine and will appear in a second spread again modeling Cassini in the glossy magazine’s September issue.

Born in Geneva, Switzerland and raised in Manhattan, Nestor headed to the left coast where she works on a variety of television and award-winning film projects simultaneous to her recording career.  After making her debut with the rootsy rocker Stronger Than This, Grammy nominated guitarist Joe Taylor tapped Nestor as a lead vocalist for the Celtic crossover group Oracle’s Pool of Dreams album.  Nestor’s second album, Call It What It Is, was led by “Still With Me,” a song about the unexpected passing of a dear friend, Peter Gould, who directed one of her music videos.  The captivating cut charted on the Adult Contemporary and Hot AC playlists and earned acclaim as a spirited homage of hope while Nestor was praised for her honest, straightforward vocal delivery.  Nestor’s adept skills as a writer have been recognized by the Billboard International and John Lennon Songwriting competitions.  Changing directions musically, her third offering, Luminous, explored ambient pop grooves and was recorded in New York and London, the latter locale being where she collaborated with Hugh Padgham (Sting/Trisha Yearwood).  An engaging live performer, Nestor premiered music from that collection at the famed Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles.  After hearing early samples of Midnight Wednesday posted online, Taylor recruited Nestor to sign with his Moonwatcher Music imprint.  Additional information is available at www.leenestor.com.
