American Idol Underground launched with a hot Hollywood event

Over a thousand invited guests came out Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of American Idol Underground at one of Hollywood’s hottest hot spots.  The Cabana Club was the scene for the party for the new online music network where emerging recording artists from thirteen musical styles can go to get their music heard and listeners can go to discover new music.  The event was hosted by Spinderella (Grammy winning rap group Salt-N-Pepa), Grammy nominated R&B-jazz artist Jonathan Butler, American Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell and American Idol Underground host Danny Jordan.  Eleven talented new artists in a variety of music genres performed live on three stages in front of a packed house filled with industry executives, sponsors, celebrities, aspiring artists, and music fans.

American Idol Underground is utilizing the power of the Internet to democratize music by providing

an online platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents while allowing music fans to

discover new music.  Artists can directly upload their music to one of American Idol Underground’s

genre-specific channels and airplay is guaranteed.  Listeners can tune in and rate the tracks.  The

better rated songs garner more airplay and may eventually go before a panel of celebrity musicians

and industry executives who serve as judges.  The winners will receive demo recording packages,

music equipment, concert tours, and/or money.  Amongst those who have already signed up as

judges are Isaac Hayes, Chaka Kahn, Verdine White (Earth, Wind & Fire), MC Lyte, Sir Mix-A-Lot,

Kid Capri, Speech (Arrested Development), Peter White, David Benoit, Paul Brown, Jeff Golub,

David Holt, Denyse Graves, and Chris Spencer.

Fluid Audio Networks’ CEO and founder Justin Beckett created American Idol Underground

under a license from Fremantle Media and 19 Entertainment, Ltd., the producers of the American

Idol television show.  Beckett and Fluid Audio Network’s COO and co-founder Bob Buch serve

as executive producers of American Idol Underground.  For more information, go to
